Younger Members Group

The Younger Member Group (YMG) is a group within the ASCE Mobile Branch to help our Younger Members make friends in the profession, grow their careers, and develop as leaders in their communities.  Younger Members must be age 35 or younger, but attendance to YMG events is open to everyone including civil engineering students at the University of South Alabama.  Learn more about this and other groups across the country by visiting ASCE's Younger Members page now!

What accomplishment/project are you most proud of?
I’m currently working on several bridge inspection/load rating projects for the Mississippi DOT under the Office of State Aid and Road Construction.

What is your favorite book, TV show or movie?
Book: 1984 by George Orwell
TV Show: Peaky Blinders
Movie: 1917

Anything else you would like to add?
I’m excited to be a part of ASCE’s Younger Member Group to give back to the Mobile community and meet new people.

What accomplishment/project are you most proud of?
To date, I am most proud of the research I conducted during my graduate studies at the University of South Alabama where we utilized numerical modeling to simulate hurricanes on Dauphin Island to develop a functional planning tool that informs decision makers when an adaptation strategy will be effective in mitigating storm damage on Dauphin Island as sea levels rise.

Since graduating in May, I have had the pleasure of working on projects that aim to rehabilitate wetland habitat in Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico through both dedicated marsh creation and the beneficial use of dredged material.

What is your favorite book, TV show or movie?
My favorite books are from the Wheel of Time series.
