2019 ASCE Mobile Annual Meeting

2019-2019 Mobile Branch Recap

Our Annual Branch meeting was held during our regular September 2019 monthly meeting on September 11 at the ALDOT SW Region Training Building.

At the meeting, the 2018-2019 Branch leadership gave a presentation to the Branch reviewing the Branch's activities and achievements for 2019. If you missed the meeting, but are interested in learning more about last year's achievements and our goals for next year, the presentation can be found at the bottom of this page. The meeting did not provide any PDH's, however, but we were excited to still see the attendance and participation we did.

We were also excited to host our Alabama Section President-Elect Brad Williams along with our current Region 5 Governor Lawren Pratt at the meeting. Brad shared some exciting updates about the Section along with some of his visionary goals for the Section and all 6 Branches for the coming year. Lawren officially installed all of the incoming Branch officers and provided some great updates from the Region level of our Society. It was clear that our Society is taking great strides to increase value to our membership and we look forward to the positive impacts these two leaders can bring to civil engineers in Alabama.

Recognizing Outgoing Officers

Immediate Past-President

In recognition of his service to our organization as an officer, we presented a plaque to our outgoing President Andrew James. He has served ASCE in many capacities including 4 years of service as an officer from Secretary through President to the Mobile Branch from 2015-2019. We look forward to his continued involvement as a Past-President on our board.

ASCE Alabama Section President-Elect Brad Williams and Region 5 Governor Lawren Pratt presented the plaque near the end of our annual meeting.

Outgoing Director

Ben Russell is the Executive Vice President of Coastal Slip Form located in Mobile. He served as Branch Director between 2017-2019, and as an officer of the Mobile Branch before that.

Immediate YMG Past-President

Katelyn Hall Finnorn is a Project Engineer at Volkert, Inc. in their Mobile office. She played an important role in serving the YMG as it transitioned from a committe to an official group. We hope to see her develop her leadership skills in her position as Past-President for the YMG.
