2019 USA-ASCE Civil Engineering Panel Discussion

With help from the Alabama Section, the ASCE Mobile Branch partnered with the USA Student Chapter to hold the USA-ASCE Civil Engineering Panel Discussion.  Modeled from the successes of similar events hosted by other branches across the state, the event included a brief presentation introducing the students to the Mobile Branch followed by over an hour long discussion between 50+ students and 6 panelists who are local practicing professionals from our area. The event was held at 6:30 PM on October 29, 2019, at Shelby Hall.

We were excited that Katelyn Finnorn (Volkert), Jack Morrisroe (Bhate), Eric Jackson (Rowe), Mary Beth Sullivan (Moffatt Nichol), Charod Jones (ALDOT) and Ben Russell (Coastal Slip Form) agreed to be this year's panelists. They participated in many insightful discussions with the students, who were fully engaged in the discussions and we could have went all night!

We especially want to say thanks to McElhenney Construction and Coastal Slip Form for sponsoring the night's dinner; and, to our Section President Brad Williams for moderating the event. We are excited to make this an annually recurring event and look forward to next year's discussion!
